“Astonished by fear and not amazed by me,
Victim of groping in broad daylight,
Number of times that pass in the heartbeat.
The big words and gestures are now lost,
I’m afraid to take my face out into the world,
I think of fear as a shrill polish attached to me,
Like a stigma that would attract looks and hatred. ”
