Description:
Simona Branc’s book is based on her doctoral thesis in sociology, recently defended under the title “Models of family education in the Banat multiethnic space. A longitudinal approach “. It is therefore addressed especially to an informed reader, but it can be a useful and even attractive reading, and for those interested in the way family education changes over time, it reformulates its frameworks and projects, the way it is reshapes the relationships between parents and children, between school and family and imagines the life paths of the next generation. Not coincidentally, every man who tells his life feels the need to evoke the family atmosphere and his formative years, seeing in them a founding moment. No less, they are an extremely sensitive seismograph of the way society evolves, mentalities and personal or group identity is thought. Simona Branc approaches the issue of family education in Banat from a generational perspective. As expected, she feels the need to define and specify the theoretical and methodological framework of the paper. It is a flexible one, based on a very good knowledge of the main directions in which the sociological research was reformed, including the Romanian one, suggesting the multiplicity of perspectives from which the subject can be approached.
