About the Journal

Focus and Scope |

Journal of Mediation & Social Welfare (JMSW) aims to promote academic excellence in social welfare and mediation as parts of the social sciences.

The journal addresses the academic community across the world, especially expressing its openness for promoting young researchers.

Journal of Mediation & Social Welfare is an open access peer-reviewed journal which addresses to both practitioners (such as public servants, NGO staff and members, community workers, youth workers, teachers, non-formal trainers and educators) and to theoreticians in the field of mediation and social welfare.

  • social work
  • sociology
  • social research
  • mediation as social practice
  • social policies
  • social welfare ethics
  • supervision of social services
  • theories of social welfare
  • social theories
  • social planning & development, etc.

All these areas could be intertwined around specific ethical openings of the research areas presented. An article may be philosophical, social, culturally referential paper, etc., but the article content must include extensive discussion on the social dimension of the topic.
The mission of the journal is to be a catalyst for debate about the role of social practices (welfare practices, mediation etc) in society and its forms of knowledge.
The JMSW's vision is a global one, addressing the academic community, being published articles that result from theoretical or empirical research.

The journal accepts manuscripts such as theoretical articles, research articles, reviews, editorials (only invited), letters to editors and comments.

An empirical research article or a theoretical article must contain a minimum of 20 bibliographic sources and a maximum of 50. At least 25% of the sources used should be from Web of Science indexed journals.

For a literature review article it is imperative to use 50 to 100 bibliographic sources, of which at least 25% should be from Web of Science indexed journals. The article should contain specific and expressly stated criteria for structuring the literature review

The articles that have resulted from both theoretical and empirical research are the subject of a peer review process.
