Description:

This work has its origins in an internship report entitled The management of intercultural education drawn up following my didactic activity at the Nicolae Bălcescu School in Tecuci. My career as a Romanian language and literature teacher started with the beginner’s luck, because I had the opportunity to work with Romanian and Roma children who learn together in the same school. As head of the intercultural education module, my mission was to facilitate communication between these two communities, to erase prejudices and to help Romanians and Roma live together, without having conflicts. At Elena Doamna High School in Galati, I now have the opportunity to use the experience gained and to improve my knowledge in this vast field, which until now has not been sufficiently explored. We live in a world ruled by religious, ethnic, racial conflicts. To eliminate violence, which manifests itself more and more in the form of terrorist acts (such as the World Trade Center or Madrid attacks), we must know other cultures better, understand and respect their customs, without modifying them.
