The first edition of this book was successful. This is the second edition of the book, published with the support of the Ministry of Culture, through the National Fund Administration. Anca Laura Codrea is a very young Romanian language writer, who lives in Brussels and works for the European institutions, and her debut in volume happened with the novel Madame Van der … Undercover, published in French. I had read the Romanian version of that novel and I liked it so much that I published a page in Timpul magazine, greeting the author as a new hope for the offensive of young native prose. I was glad to see that the French version sounds just as good. But I still believe that the novel, which evokes, perhaps autobiographically, the pilgrimages and adventures of a young heroine of Romanian origin in the social, academic, cultural, tourist, and even erotic-sexual Western world, should be published in Romanian. Until this happens, Anca Laura Codrea decided to make her mother tongue debut with “a lot of sweet and beautiful” with this volume of stories. Interesting – usually, young prose writers make their entry in literature with smaller texts in order to “reach”, somehow after some efforts and accumulations, the novel. However, our young author chose the opposite path.
