Abstract

This article’s relevance lies in the growing scientific interest in the links between physical activity and the human immune system. Sports and regular physical exercise are key contributors to overall health and the body’s functional capacity. They influence the immune response either directly or indirectly. Accordingly, this systematic review examines current medical and pedagogical studies on how physical activity of varying intensities affects immune function. Sources were selected based on the following criteria: publication in peer-reviewed medical or pedagogical journals within the past two decades, and the use of experimental, quasi-experimental, or clinical research methods. The article outlines the beneficial effects of moderate physical activity and the potential risks of immunodeficiency resulting from excessive or chronic exertion. Furthermore, it emphasises the importance of physical education as a critical component of disease prevention and a key element in rehabilitation within sports pedagogy. In addition, the article reveals the role of physical activity in maintaining the healthy functioning of the human body. It explores medical aspects of rehabilitation in sports pedagogy and discusses how sports activities influence immune response. Finally, the article examines the broader medical impact of physical exercise on the immune system.
