Open access business model |

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

In Manifest Network Journals are Open Access journals and use an Open access business model that is based on the principle whereby the journal’s publication expenses (including the free availability of the content for the readers, either individual or institutional) are covered by the authors through open access fees.

INMANIFEST NETWORK & LUMEN publishes all journals in full open access, which means unlimited use and reuse of articles, in addition to giving credit to the authors.

APCs are used by In Manifest Network Journals  in replacing the subscription fees that libraries and readers traditionally have paid to gain access to research articles in electronic online format. Using APCs shift the burden of journal production costs to authors from readers.

The APC model implies that authors pay a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) in order to cover the journal production costs (editing, peer review, hosting, archiving, preservation), professional production of articles in PDF and other formats, and dissemination of published papers in selected databases etc.

Nota bene:

There are no charges for rejected articles, no submission charges, and no surcharges based on the length of an article, figures or supplementary data.

However, services such as  supplementary iThenticate Similarity Check (starting from the 2nd check) and extensive authorship  (from 5th to 8th author) are charged  independently - check below the charges.

A series of selected items (Editorials, Corrections, Addendums, Retractions, Comments, etc.) are published free of charge.

LUMEN journals' articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.

INMANIFEST NETWORK (as managing party  of the LUMEN Journals division) charges the following charges:

Fast Track Evaluation Policy |

In line with international best practices for scientific publishing, our journal offers an optional Fast Track Evaluation service to authors seeking an expedited review process. This policy ensures that all submissions, regardless of review speed, are subject to the same rigorous peer review and editorial standards.

Service Description |  The Fast Track Evaluation service provides authors with a prioritized peer review process for an additional fee. This service is available for original research articles, reviews, and other eligible manuscript types as specified in the journal’s scope.

Timeline | Authors who opt for Fast Track Evaluation will receive an initial editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) within 21 calendar days from confirmation of payment, provided that all submission requirements are fulfilled at the time of submission.

Fees | Fast Track Fee: €250 (EUR) + VAT per manuscript, non-refundable. Article Processing Charge (APC): €650 (EUR) + VAT per article (for up to four authors), payable upon acceptance, regardless of Fast Track selection.

Editorial Integrity and Peer Review | All manuscripts, including those submitted via Fast Track, undergo the same rigorous, independent peer review process in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies and international ethical guidelines (COPE, DOAJ). The Fast Track Fee covers only the expedited handling and does not influence the editorial decision or guarantee acceptance. Peer reviewers are not informed of the payment status of the submission.

Transparency | All Fast Track and APC fees are fully disclosed on the journal’s website. Fast Track is an optional service and does not affect the scientific merit or evaluation criteria for any manuscript.

Refund Policy | The Fast Track Fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the editorial decision. APC is charged only if the manuscript is formally accepted for publication.

How to Apply |  Authors may request Fast Track Evaluation at the time of submission by selecting the corresponding option in the submission system or by contacting the editorial office directly. Payment instructions will be provided upon request.
