Abstract

This paper focuses on the effects and the consequences of using technical means in the process through which students evaluate the teaching activity of academic staff. The research was conducted on a sample of 65 students from the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers within the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, using as an instrument a 12-item questionnaire administered online. The aggregation and interpretation of the collected data provided a descriptive overview of how the beneficiaries of educational services (the students) wish the feedback they provide to be applied, collected, and interpreted, as well as a set of recommendations in this regard. At the same time, several positive aspects emerging from the digitalization of the student evaluation process were highlighted, such as accessibility, anonymization of responses, flexibility, and efficiency in aggregating and interpreting large volumes of data. The study also highlights the importance of involving social science experts in the design phase of the university’s feedback questionnaires, to help maintain and improve student responsiveness and engagement in these activities.
