EDITORIAL REGULATIONS

The EDITORIAL REGULATIONS of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House applies to all the publications, according to the following:

Section 1 – The editorial activity of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House consists of the selection, preparation for printing, printing and dissemination of the following types of printing:

  • scientific books,
  • academic books,
  • academic courses,
  • journals and periodicals of a scientific or cultural nature,
  • cultural books,
  • literature books,
  • other types of books,
  • documentary materials,
  • promotional materials,
  • online publications etc.

Section 2 – The activity of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House is based on the editorial programs approved by the Scientific Committee of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House , which is objectified by calls for papers to authors / proposers of volumes or special issues of scientific journals, research institutions and / or universities for the publication of individual or collective volumes, journals and other scientific, cultural or fictional publications, calls for papers whose conditions can be found on the LUMEN Scientific Publishing House website or on the journals’ publishing platform, in the section dedicated to Book Series, or to the journal to which the call refers, the regulation of which is added to the present regulation of the Publishing House. The establishment of a new editorial program or the transformation of an existing one is done by modifying a call for papers or launching another call for papers, which is considered an annex to this regulation. The calendar of the publishing programs of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House is updated whenever necessary and is made public on the LUMEN Scientific Publishing House ‘s website after each update.

Section 3 – Books are published separately into Book Series, each of the Series having functional autonomy, book series coordinator and own book series editor. Each Series published by LUMEN Scientific Publishing House can elaborate a supplement to the editorial regulation, which will be published on the dedicated webpage on the LUMEN Scientific Publishing House website.

Section 4 – The scientific journals and publications are published by LUMEN Scientific Publishing House within the publication management program, each having its own structural, functional, managerial and scientific autonomy. The operating of the journals is based on a regulation of its own functioning, which may not be annexed to the publishing regulations. Each journal published by LUMEN Scientific Publishing House will draft its own regulation within a maximum of one year from the acceptance of the publication by the LUMEN Scientific Publishing House administration. The regulations of each LUMEN Scientific Publishing House journal can be accessed at www.lumenpublishing.com/journals. For the journals that are published in the name and under the affiliation of university or scientific research entities, the functioning of the journals is based on a regulation of its own, approved by the respective scientific entity.

Section 5 – The editorial consulting department carries out editorial and scientific trainning activities in partnership with the LUMEN Training Center, provides the informational support for the LUMEN Scientific Publishing House programs, provides editorial consultancy to potential authors, as well as the natural or legal persons who request this, through the editors. The members of the Scientific Committee are elected from the members of the Editorial Advisory Department.

Section 6 – All programs of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House are carried out maintaining the highest academic standards for the scientific books, cultural standards for the cultural books and editorial standards for all the books, publications and programs of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House . The general quality standards of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House are annexed to this regulation and any scientific publication published by LUMEN Scientific Publishing House must meet at least these minimum quality standards. Each book series, editorial program or journal may have its own standards, which exceed the general standards, but will not be able to lower those standards. The cultural quality standards are annexed to this regulation and must be respected for any publication with a cultural character published by LUMEN Scientific Publishing House . The book series, publications and programs of LUMEN Scientific Publishing House can introduce additional standards of cultural quality, without being able to diminish the general standards.

Section 7 – The editorial activity is carried out in accordance with the following legal provisions: Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights, Law no. 111/1995 regarding the constitution, organization and functioning of the legal printing deposit, Law no. 35/1994 regarding the literary, cinematographic, musical, folkloric and plastic arts stamp, orders of the Ministry of Culture or the Ministry of Education and Research in the field, standards of CNATDCU and CNECSDTI.

Section 8 – LUMEN Scientific Publishing House may organize contests or promotions, based on editorial selection, on the one hand in order to select the books or articles to be published, on the other hand to promote the scientific or cultural value of the publishing house. The conditions of these competitions or promotions will be published in the announcements regarding the respective competitions or promotions.
