Description:
At least four generations of Romanian prose writers lurk in front of readers. The book starts with Mircea Eliade typical textbooks (1907-1986), Nicolae Breban (b. 1934, Baia Mare), Dumitru Radu Popescu (b. 1935, Pausa village, Bihor) or Augustin Buzura (1938, Berinta, Maramures). who do not deny their massive constructions or serious, universal themes (recurring in the work of Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Thomas Mann, Tolstoy, Proust). Their work is distinguished by strong, contrastive and at the same time complementary typologies (spirit – body, life – art, Apollonian – Dionysian, spiritual master – disciple, executioner – victim, including the erotic, political, social planes); the predominantly analytical style is reminiscent of psychoanalytic investigation and procedures, which does not exclude the long digressive monologue, verve and proteism. We reach, as we will demonstrate, through a wonderful process of overcoming the fatality of asynchrony, the scope of Euro-American fiction, the psychopolitical epic, the mythological and realistic novels, the half-visible stories that imposed, for example, in the history of literature, the late Marius Tupan.
