Description:
The great enlargement of the community bloc caused a real geopolitical upheaval. The European Union must define its relations with its new neighbors: the CIS member countries (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova), the Balkan countries, the countries bordering the Eastern Mediterranean. In this strategy, each country will come up with its own priorities. The Baltic countries will insist on the northern dimension, Slovenia and Hungary, on the Balkans, Poland on the relationship with Russia and Ukraine. With Romania’s accession comes the pressure from it in favor of the Republic of Moldova. (The author)
