For the success of such an enterprise, full of pitfalls and difficulties with a high degree of risk of final success, it was essential to meet several essential preconditions: an in-depth and balanced knowledge of the issue in question, taking into account all the views of the actors. involved; a careful examination of the antecedents and evolutions of the official positions of the Romanian foreign policy in relation to this issue; a well-founded methodological research of the Romanian media in the first decade of the transition in order to capture and highlight the truly representative voices for the different points of view that have emerged on the Arab-Israeli conflict, always having as a reference factor a certain tendency to maintain or revive local traditions.
