Description:
The framework of activity and creation of historians who investigate the events of recent decades is organically, in terms of history theory, in the area of recent history, immediate history or the history of the present time, which marks, along with the proximity of our time, as witnesses or analysts. our time ”and questioning the actors of this period. The formula of these terms, of the current historical cohabitation, is presented with conviction by the French professor Jean-Francois Soulet in the synthesis of Immediate History. Soulet delimits “the whole of the terminal part of contemporary history, including both that of the present age and that of the last thirty years; a history whose main characteristic is the fact that it was lived by the historian or by his main witnesses ”. The research base of immediate history also captured achievements achieved in contemporary historiographical discourse. In this context, the activity of the Institute of the History of the Present Time in France, inaugurated in 1980, as a component part of the National Center for Social Research, is also circumscribed. The techniques and research methods of this type of history include, along with written documents and oral testimonies. As types of recent history can be mentioned the works written during the events: memoirs, war chronicles, diaries or stories captured with the help of participants and witnesses. (The author)
