Description:

The name “private international law” was first used by J. Story in Commentaries on the Conflict of Law (1834), later taken over by M. Foelix in Traité de Droit International Privé (1843) and then by J. Schaffner, in the work Entwicklung desinternationales privatrecht (1851). In Romanian law, the old legal literature considered art. 2 of the Romanian Civil Code as the only source of private international law. The three paragraphs of this article referred to: goods, persons and the form of legal acts, devoting three fundamental solutions: lex rei sitae, lex patriae and locus rigit formam actus.
