Description:
Gabriela Ciobanu’s study (a doctoral thesis conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Doiniţa Milea), focuses on thematic and visionary aspects that are defining for the short prose of the ’60s generation. As the author remarks, for a long time short prose was seen only as a preparatory exercise for the novel, without being granted the right to be in the forefront of literary history. The selection that the author makes inside this generation is also interesting. Proposing a predominantly mythical-archetypal analysis, she selects authors who, consciously or not, reflect, in their texts, some ancestral mythical patterns. That is why he relates the short prose of Fănuş Neagu, Ştefan Bănulescu, George Bălăiţă, Sorin Titel D.R. Popescu and Nicolae Breban. (Cristina CIOBANU – Introductory remarks to the volume)
