Fragment from the volume:
Today I’m going to tell you a story to put children to sleep. At least that’s how parents think. The truth is that they do not fall asleep, but meditate on the meaning of that story, but parents have no way of knowing. They have forgotten since they were children themselves. My heroes today are twin brothers. Their names are Val and Mal. Val was born first, and if he were the king’s son, he would be the heir to the throne. The mother always put him first to suck on the breast, he was the first changed, the first swayed, the first bathing and the first …, first …, first of all to all that life has best to offer. Mal has always been second, which, when there are two, means last. True, fate was not as bad with him as you might think; he usually managed to reach the shore, but there were also cases when he drowned … on the shore. When Val made a fuss, the waves washed the shores well and all the dirt on the shore remained. There was no sanitation service to clean up after the Wave. But otherwise, Val and Mal got along well, they were always inseparable.
