Cooperrider proposes the following operational definition of the appreciative survey: a co-transforming research of the positive in individuals and organizations. The appreciative inquiry is a transformative discovery of the vitality-generating sources of living systems in their moments of maximum efficiency and maximum creative capacity in the economic, ecological, human resources domain. Appreciative inquiry is a central technique based on the interrogative art on the strengths of the system in order to understand, anticipate and maximize their creative potential. It is a mobilization of interrogative capacity based on the principle of unconditionally positive questions. The dimension of research is correlated with that of intervention by unlocking the innovative potential of creative imagination instead of denial and criticism. Appreciative Inquirey is a particular way to question the topics of organizational development and at the same time to foreshadow the future, by adopting positive relationships starting from the fundamental positivity inherent in the person, organization or situation, increasing capacity of cooperation and changing the system. The method has, as a fundamental presupposition, the commitment of individuals in improving, changing and focusing on performance. (The authors)
