Description:
In the following I want to make an analysis of the Christian-Democratic doctrine, from the first words related to its beginnings as a religious current promoted by Catholic priests especially from countries such as: France, Belgium. The role of the church, especially the Catholic one, was essential in the emergence and development of European Christian Democracy during the period when it was still a Christian concept. This paper aims to analyze the differences in approach of the Christian Democratic current in South Eastern Europe (mostly Orthodox) and the Central and Western European countries, to present the differences and similarities of approaches of the main political parties in these countries. At the same time, I want to bring a possible explanation for the fact that in the Orthodox countries there is no authentic and strong Christian-Democratic current. This paper wants to be a brick in the existing pyramid of books on this topic, and wants to bring up to date and debate the Christian Democrat current in Romania, especially now that more and more political parties want to assimilate democratic and popular Christian values.
