Description:

This paper is a synthesis of what the Portuguese space represents and has represented for Romania. The idea came from my own experience in Portugal, where I lived for six months as a resident student. It just so happened that during my departure Sorin Alexandrescu published Mircea Eliade from Portugal, a work that I had the opportunity to read in Romanian only when I returned to the country. In fact, I also read Eliade’s Portuguese Diary here, which said in one of its articles that “It would be interesting to write one day the history of cultural relations of the two Latin countries furthest from each other: Portugal and Romania”.
