The present research considers the comparative approach of the current Romanian and Italian journalistic discourse from the perspective of the presence in the publicity text of the references to known statements, cited as such or paraphrased, in order to attract the readers’ attention and to invite them to read the press materials. The analysis of these “effect” statements used in Romanian publicity has been the topic of research undertaken in recent years by Stelian Dumistrăcel, materialized in numerous articles published in specialized journals, as well as in two volumes to which we will frequently refer in our study ( Speech and Language). Regarding Italian advertising, the analysis of these statements has been researched in the framework of some studies dedicated to highlighting the characteristics of the Italian advertising language of the present era (for example, Dardano, Giornali, Faustini, Tecniche, Beccaria, Per difesa, etc.).
