The present paper intends to make a synthesis of the most important biometric methods, especially since at present there are a limited number of works dealing with biometric methods in the Romanian literature, and the proposed applicability for each of them is adapted according to their function by several criteria, such as: the risks involved, the precedent they create, their true performance, the error rate with which they operate and, last but not least, moral and ethical considerations.
