The object of the present study is a legal approach to the institutional side of the European Union in the period after the entry into force of the Treaty of Nice (the period which also includes the signing of the Treaty of Lisbon, to enter into force on the 1st of January 2009, if ratified by all Member States). Thus, we consider it necessary to analyze the evolution of the EU institutional framework from the perspective of existing treaties and from the perspective of the Lisbon Treaty (I chose the legal nature of the EU institutions, responsibilities, decision-making, legal relations between them, legal acts issued ), elements of originality that we cannot detect if we do not accept the realization of a necessary legal comparison from two perspectives: that of the law of international organizations and that of European institutional law.
