Description:

Karl Popper is one of the most discussed philosophers of science, starting with the second half of the twentieth century, his work enjoying immense international notoriety. In our country, frequent references have been made in the last 50 years, but, according to our science, there is no monograph dedicated to the one who stated a demarcation criterion between the theories claiming to science and ideologies. A scientific theory is characterized by the fact that, from the coherent ensemble of the constituted statements, at least a certain statement can be detached with the function of empirical testing so that, if it proved true, it would be denied its universality. This is the case with Einstein’s theory and Newton’s theory of gravity. For example: “If the redshift of spectral lines due to gravitational potential did not exist, the general theory of relativity could not be supported.” Not so with Marxism and psychoanalysis, which Popper accused of being ideologies, which, from an epistemological point of view, are misleading, and from a political point of view, are dogmatic.
