Description:

The present research aims to explain in an explanatory way the phenomenon of migration, first of all to test the social costs of the external migration from Romania. We tried to find some answers by referring to this specific type of migration, more specifically the external or international circulatory migration of the phenomenon that has registered a constant growth in Romania in the last years. Traveling to work abroad is part of a life strategy with major effects on the individual / household. In this regard, there is an emphasis on the social costs of the phenomenon that is expanding, with effects at a national level. The present study is based on the questions: what are the reasons that cause Romanians to go to work abroad, under what conditions are they legally or illegally leaving, the perception of Romanians about today’s situation in Romania, their perception about the area of emigration, what are the costs , which are the benefits and losses of external migration. In this paper, the phenomenon of migration is studied from a broader perspective, as both individuals in the hypothesis of immigration (inputs) and emigration (outputs) are taken into account, both forms of migration are taken into account as any migratory act is at the same time a migration and an emigration.(The author)
