Description:

The theme is not only current and sensitive, but also serious. According to the data available at European level, Romanians are the most numerous migrant group from one of the member countries of the European Union, on a scale of around two million (only Moroccans and Turks seem to outnumber them, but they come from countries outside the Union). This says a lot about our country’s position in the current geopolitical, economic and cultural configuration of the continent. Of course, the causes, the duration, the experiences of migration are multiple, the migratory population, which is also in large numbers outside Europe, is not homogeneous, and cannot be included in an exclusive formula like “brain drain of the elites”. The phenomenon is not exclusively Romanian and not even new in the national history, even though we learned at school that Romanians are a stable people, which have been invaded for centuries to other migrant peoples.
