This paper deals with a multitude of aspects generated by hearing loss, both theoretically and socially and practically, offering those interested a more realistic description of the deaf community seen from within. . The entire content of the book sometimes takes on the tone of a manifesto, especially since I have been completely deprived of hearing since early childhood and am an active member of this community. In this capacity I can offer a lesser-known perspective on the problems that this community faces as well as some solutions to solve them. We approached, in this context, the efficiency of the services provided by society to these people, which still leaves much to be desired. A brief historical look at some moments in the organizational development of this community from small groups to globally representative organizations, such as the World Organization of the Deaf, which has observer status at the UN or the European Union, is not omitted.
