Description:

The paper entitled Religion and migration in contemporary Romania. Case study: Romanians from Italy intends to critically evaluate the external migration of transnational communities in contemporary Romania. The purpose of the paper is focused on the importance of the transnational reality in the analysis of international migration, on the interethnic relations as well as on the disadvantaged ethnic groups. The relationships between Romanians abroad, relations between ethnic minorities and transnational spaces are exploited. At the center of attention is the relationship between “transnational communities” and “home”, where “home” is always somewhere else, always changing for those development-oriented identities with various social implications, with transformed geopolitical spaces.
